Yeast and bacterial cell culture
Both organisms are mainly used for the expression of recombinant proteins, which we need for our structural biology work. Yeast is also an excellent eukaryotic model organism for genetic studies.
Insect cell culture
We use insect cells for the recombinant expression of soluble proteins and large protein complexes that we need for our structural biology work.

The mammalian cell culture is used to express the most difficult and largest protein complexes and membrane proteins, which do not give sufficient yield in other organisms.
