Analyse der genetischen Grundlage der Bakterien-Wirt-Interaktion und Anpassung von Escherichia coli: Einfluss auf die Wechselwirkung an zellulären Barrieren

    Wir charakterisieren die Genomplastizität von E. coli und positive Selektion bei extraintestinalen Infektionen. Um die genetische Flexibilität mit bakterieller Fitness bzw. Virulenz in vivo zu korrelieren, untersuchen wir die Bakterien-Wirt-Interaktion an zellulären Barrieren ebenso wie die Genomvariabilität von E. coli in verschiedenen Patienten und Nischen sowie bakterielle Faktoren, welche an der metabolischen Anpassung an verschiedene Nischen beteiligt sind.
