The postnatal activation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad axis
As part of the DFG-funded project "The postnatal activation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad axis in boys and its effects on reproductive function and reproductive health", we are investigating together with the Clinic of Pediatrics the influence of minipuberty in both the brain and testicles on fertility potential. Of particular interest is the investigation of processes that lead to the activation and arrest of minipuberty. The project focuses on the analysis of data from genome-wide association studies (GWAS), snRNA-seq experiments, and clinical parameters. In addition to the application of proven analysis approaches, own, innovative analysis pipelines will be developed.
