SEED.projects

Scientific Education and Experiences for Medical Doctors

Since 2012, the IZKF Münster has supported a total of 20 research-enthusiastic young doctors in this funding format developed specifically for Clinician Scientists. This funding module provided young clinicians with the opportunity of rotating out of the clinic for 3 years and to work on their own scientific project at a self-selected preclinical or clinical-theoretical institute, to expand their scientific expertise and to take on initial responsibility for a small working group.

In 2022, the IZKF board decided to integrate the successful funding format into the DFG-funded Clinician Scientist program CareerS, which has now been established at the Medical Faculty. The goal is to offer a common career path for doctors in the faculty, in which different funding partners participate.

The SEED.projects that will continue to be funded until December 2023 and 2025 respectively, have been integrated into the CareerS community. As of 2023, the IZKF no longer announces calls for the Clinicial scientist programme format SEED.projects.
