Cell type-specificity of endocannabinoid signaling in amygdala-BNST projections regulating sustained fear
H.-C. Pape, B. Lutz
The Project aims at identifying the cell-type specific involvement of endocannabinoid signaling in the different neuronal projections from the amygdala to the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST) regarding the regulation of the individual fear response profile. Cannabinoid CB1 receptor function will be inactivated specifically in three amygdalar neuronal subpopulations, expressing expressing corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH), protein kinase Cδ (PKCδ), or somatostatin (SST).
