Research Interests

In my research, I focus on the development and mechanisms of anxiety and affective disorders. I use mouse model systems (e.g. a humanized NPSR1 mouse line or a haploinsufficient Cacna1c mouse line) to analyze alterations of animal behavior and underlying neuronal mechanisms. I use in vivo and ex vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, catFISH/RNAScope, and behavioral paradigms to assess alterations inducing anxiety disorders or promoting the onset of depressive-like behavior in mice.
