I was born in Lüdinghausen, a small town close to Münster and lived there until I finished high school. Afterwards, I decided to study Molecular Biomedicine in Bonn. I performed my Bachelor project about inflammasome activation in epithelial cells in the lab of Prof. Dr. Stilla Frede at the university hospital Bonn and thereby finished my Bachelor degree in summer 2022.

Afterwards I was curious about academia and research in different places. I applied for Master studies in Sweden and stated the Master program Infection Biology in 2022 at Uppsala University. During my Master thesis, which I performed in Prof. Dr. Tanel Pungas lab, I worked with adenoviruses and the viral protein E1B19K. I generated a virus with tagged E1B19K to investigate the location and interactions of E1B19K.

In 2024 I finished my studies and started with my PhD in October at the Institute of Cellular Virology as a member of the CiM-IMPRS graduate school. I will investigate how extrinsic factors can change the cellular status in order to influence HPV infections.
