Participants receive a scenario and a table of STR typing results for a trace DNA profile and reference profiles of potential trace donors. Participants calculate statistics following the frequentist approach (Random Man Not Excluded, RMNE) and binary likelihood ratios (LRbin). Participants will use the frequencies provided by STRidER  and will submit the results of their calculation together with the complete wording for the hypothesis used for LRbin.. Using other frequency data will lead to slightly different results, which will not be evaluated by TrACE.

Participants will receive a certificate of successful participation, listing all tests and STR markers for which correct results were submitted by the lab. A summary of all submitted results will be made available so that the laboratory can assess its own performance.

Die Teilnehmer erhalten ein Szenario und eine Tabelle mit STR-Typisierungsergebnissen für ein DNA-Spurenprofil und Referenzprofile potenzieller Spurenspender. Die Teilnehmer berechnen Statistiken nach dem Frequenzansatz (Random Man Not Excluded, RMNE) und binäre Likelihood Ratios (LRbin). Die Teilnehmer verwenden Frequenzen, die von STRidER zur Verfügung gestellt werden, und übermitteln die Ergebnisse ihrer Berechnung zusammen mit den vollständig ausformulierten Hypothesen für LRBin. Die Verwendung anderer Frequenzen führt zu leicht abweichenden Ergebnissen, die nicht von TrACE bewertet werden.

Die Teilnehmer erhalten ein Zertifikat über die erfolgreiche Teilnahme, in dem alle Tests und STR-Marker aufgeführt sind, für die das Labor korrekte Ergebnisse übermittelt hat. Eine Zusammenfassung aller eingereichten Ergebnisse wird zur Verfügung gestellt, damit das Labor seine eigene Leistung bewerten kann.
