UKM Reading Center

The UKM Reading Center provides standardized and systematic analysis of digital images for scientific ophthalmic studies.

It was founded to provide digital analysis of internal clinical studies at the highest level. The IT platform was established under the leadership of the Institute of Medical Informatics and the IT Department of the Faculty of Medicine.

Our staff are physicians and scientists with extensive experience in clinical trials and the use of various imaging technologies in both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye.

Clinical trials require standardized acquisition, processing and analysis of clinical data. To ensure this quality, the acquisition and analysis of de-identified images are performed at the UKM Reading Center according to international study-specific protocols. Our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comply with EVICR and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines. The grading protocols are refined by our imaging specialists according to international standards.

Since mid-2017, the UKM Reading Center is also certified according to DIN ISO 9001-2015.
